Volunteer Opportunities
Each year 500 volunteers spend over 7,000 hours at the Arboretum. Volunteers build trails, remove invasive plants, teach children about nature, and make our annual Festivals possible. Below is a list of just some of the volunteer opportunities available at the Arboretum. Please contact the staff member listed for each job to obtain further details about these opportunities or to find out about other opportunities not listed here.
Site Volunteer
Join us in caring for the Arboretum’s habitats, plant communities, and trails at weekend workparties. These opportunities are a great way to meet other Arboretum supporters, learn about local ecology while getting some exercise.
Like volunteering in the morning? Join Tom LoCascio, Site Manager, Saturdays from 10:00 to 1:00. Meet in front of the Visitor Center, located at the bottom of the parking lot.
Like volunteering in the afternoon? Join August Jackson, our Site Assistant, in front of the Visitor Center, Sundays from 12:30 to 3:30.
To RSVP to an upcoming work party or arrange special volunteer activities for individuals, groups or organizations, email Tom or call (541) 954-5463.
Office Volunteer
Would you enjoy a casual, social afternoon of putting mailing labels on newsletters? We periodically look for help with data entry, mailings, copying, and other office tasks. Call or e-mail Rainee at (541) 747-3817 or mtpisgah@efn.org.

Festival/Special Event Volunteer
Take part in MPA’s popular special events, including the Mushroom Festival and Wildflower Festival, as well as benefit concerts and other elegant fundraisers. Or, represent the Arboretum at community events like the Eugene Celebration and Earth Day. You can staff the Arboretum booth on the day of the event, set up or tear down, or help in the planning stages. A fun way to meet new people or work with friends! Call or e-mail the Rainee at (541) 747-3817 or mtpisgah@efn.org.

If you want to play a bigger and very vital role in the Arboretum, consider taking a role in scheduling visitor center hosts and festival volunteers. Call or e-mail Rainee at (541) 747-3817 or mtpisgah@efn.org for more details.
